If you’ve never been to a wine tasting at a vineyard, you might not have any idea what to wear. The truth is this, people can wear whatever they darn well please to a winery, but there are some guidelines to follow. First, it depends on the weather and the season. If it’s going to be chilly, you won’t be wearing a flirty mini-dress and straw hat, will you? And secondly, it depends on who you’re going wine-tasting with. You might not wear the same thing on a date as you would with your girlfriends or colleagues. In addition, consider your own personal style and what the other folks in your party might choose to wear.

So, before we show you our looks, let’s answer the question what do winery outfits actually consist of? Here’s some quick and dirty ideas:

Winery Outfits: Look #1 for Spring or Summer

When it comes to the most comfortable and classy winery outfits, we recommend a pair of classic, dark wash skinny jeans paired with your favorite flirty top. Take the woman in look #1 above. This ensemble wasn’t over-thought, it consists of classic wardrobe staples then accessorized with the perfect hat for any and all of your winery outfits.

Look #2: A Cheery Spring or Summer Wine-tasting Outfit

Probably one of my favorite winery outfits on this list is this cheery yellow linen dress with fedora hat in look #2. You can find one just like this on Shein for a mere $20 or if you’d like to spend a little more on your look, find a similar style on J. Crew or Banana Republic for $40 to $60. A pair of comfy sandals and a fedora hat pull this winery outfit all together and is a perfect look for Spring or Summer. You’ll stay cool but also look the part.

Look #3: Linen Winery Outfits with Statement Hats

Linen dresses seems to be a common pattern with winery outfits and especially with a statement hat like in our look #3 above. Again, linen dresses can be found pretty much anywhere online with a simple google search. But the hat? We recommend Amazon or Shein. Specific style of hats to look for include fedora, wide brim, straw, floppy, wide-brimmed bucket hat, cowboy hat and a chin-tied hat. I’ve also found some cute ones on Target and H&M for affordable prices.

Look #4: Bohemian Top With Maxi Skirt

It’s what we like to call a granny or teacher skirt. As for the white Bohemian style top, they’re pretty much everywhere online including Shein, Nordstrom, Poshmark and more.

Look #5: Simple and Comfy Dresses

One of my favorite dresses in my closet is a maxi tank dress. It’s versatile, because I can wear it in the Summer even throwing it over my swimsuit. And I can dress it up in the Fall for dates and wine-tastings. The best spot for this kind of dress is Limelush.com. You don’t truly even need a hat to accessorize, but we do recommend a couple cute bracelets and dangly earrings to complete the look.

This look will work perfectly for a cooler Spring or Summer day at the winery. A pair of cute white shorts and a backless sweater. Bright and jewel tone sweaters contrast nicely with white shorts. 7. Can you wear black to a wine-tasting?

The answer is simple, YES you can wear black to a winery or wine-tasting. We recommend avoiding all black on especially warm days, however, as black tends to absorb the light rather than deflecting it. But a black ensemble with matching hat, like the look above, is a chic look for your Fall or Winter winery outfits.

For Autumn and early Winter, winery outfits can literally consist of plaid or flannel shirts with your favorite pair of jeans, boots, and an upswept hairdo. Men can wear flannel and jeans too.
